In case one or two persons wonder why Developers.ie don't use Community Server from Telligent. Well honestly I tried. But even if if it's a good idea for a new project, or even an Intranet, I don't think I would like to recommend the migration.
My main critic is that CS try to do too much. Having the blogs, forums and other gadgets like the photos gallery seems to be a good idea at the start, but there you finish with a huge dinosaur type of project.
I tried also to split the tool, but its quite impossible, everything is so intricated. No I am going to stay at least for a while with what we have. After all, even if it's not perfect, .Text is still doing a good job. I am working on the Forums now, trying to apply the Developers design on the default pages.
And I like the idea of having different small projects embedded in a bigger one, a bit like russian dolls, where you can modify something without screwing the rest of your code.
